Record participation in the Niedersachsen company mission to Seattle

Niedersachsen Aviation visited the largest aerospace cluster worldwide in Seattle for the 9th time. The focus of the business mission was on the PNAA-Conference which is one of the biggest conferences for aerospace suppliers in the US.

With 43 participants from 31 companies the delegation reached a record participation. For member companies from the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership (EACP) it was the second time to be invited to join the business mission from us. The aim is to jointly develop new market potential for European suppliers - especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) - as well as the expansion of the global cluster cooperation.

The feedback from the delegates was throughout positive. Especially the mix of large companies, SMEs and the political representatives from the State of Niedersachsen were commended.

The program provided numerous opportunities for international networking and business development: One highlight among others was the joint "German Washington Aviation Forum" which was organized in close co-operation with the Boeing Supplier Management. More than 60 participants from Europe and the US among them numerous important medium-sized companies such as Collins Aerospace and Diehl Aviation attended the top-class event.

Jeffrey K. Hanley, Director of Supply Chain Strategy at Boeing, presented challenges and opportunities within the worldwide largest aerospace cluster in Seattle. Besides B2B Meetings and factory visits at Boeing and several opportunities for networking the participation at the PNAA Conference was core activity of the mission.

Since 2010 Niedersachsen Aviation regularly organizes business missions to the State of Washington. In 2017 European partners have been invited to join the mission on a multi-national level. Since 2011 Niedersachsen Aviation has developed a close collaboration with the Pacific North-West Aerospace Alliance (PNAA) as local partner in Seattle. These good relations could now be leveraged for the benefit of the travelling entrepreneurs to open up new markets.

We would like to thank all partners and participants for the successful delegation trip and are already looking forward to the PNAA Conference 2020.
